Tide at 2 years old Sired by Bart. I took Tide on this trip, instead of Bart, to get him used to coyote hunting and fetching trout. By noon we arrived at a small creek near Red Lake and caught 4 brooks and one rainbow. Tide kept trying to get ahead of me and that would have spooked the fish so I put him on the short leash tied to my belt. Bart will fetch them out of the water when I bring them up to the surface. Tide needs more training. We continued on up to the Sweetwater’s and I stopped in the Star Camp Site beautiful campsite in the white bark pines , but the biting flies and mosquitoes were very bad.

The celebrated train of was numbered M and was a yellow-and-brown lightweight passenger train, articulated and streamlined as a four-car trainset powered by a horsepower oil-distillate internal combustion engine. I and 4 other members of the RCGP were fortunate enough to attend the convention. I was very lucky to have 8 other members and spounses of our club join me in Seoul. I want to express my gratitude for this experience as the President Elect, I found it a valuable source of networking and knowledge for all things Rotary! Myself, I have attended several conventions throughout the years and this was by far one of the best Rotary Conventions I have attended.

The break outs and keynotes were educational and inspirational! I connected not only with fellow President Elects around the globe, but also with one right here in Grande Prairie, who I know I will be working with throughout the year, Karen Scribner from the Swan City Club. Together, my new friends and fellow President Elects have made a pact to meet one year from now in Atlanta to share our Presidential Year of experiences!

No matter how many times a person attends a Convention, they always come away with a renewed sense of “Rotary” and a broadened view of how one person really can make a difference. I invite everyone to try and attend a Rotary International Convention, no matter where you are in your Rotary journey. Why not join many of us who have already committed to attend the International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, or perhaps in Toronto, Ontario!

This is a great chance to get to know Rotary better as well as your fellow Rotarians, local and international friends alike. Thank you again, and here is to a great Rotary Year!

New York City October 18, It is with proper pride that we dedicate this book to the often- unsung U. This book is published with special thanks to those intelligence and law enforcement officials who have given us such extraordinary assistance in cross-checking facts in putting the story together. These have included officials not only in the USA, but our nation’s French ally, and also patriots in Canada embittered against what the Bronfmans and others have done to their nation and our own.

Origins[ edit ] For the history of the tie, see also Cravat. There is a long history of neckwear worn by soldiers Roman , whether as part of a uniform or as a symbol of belonging to a particular group. Some form of neckwear other than the outdoor scarf can be traced intermittently through many centuries. The modern necktie spread by Europe traces back to the time of the Thirty Years’ War — when Croatian mercenaries from the Croatian Military Frontier in French service, wearing their traditional small, knotted neckerchiefs, aroused the interest of the Parisians.

This new article of clothing started a fashion craze in Europe; both men and women wore pieces of fabric around their necks. From its introduction by the French king, men wore lace cravats , or jabots , that took a large amount of time and effort to arrange. These cravats were often tied in place by cravat strings, arranged neatly and tied in a bow.

Give us a holler Bruce Kiskaddon is a real old time cowboy, having started his cattle ranch experience in the Picket Wire district of southern Colorado as a kid cowhand and rough string rider and later on northern Arizona ranges, especially as a writer for the late Tap Duncan, famous as a Texas and Arizona cattleman, and one time the largest cattle holder in Mojave County, Arizona, where Bruce rode for years, after which he took a turn as a rider on big cattle stations in Australia.

All this experience is reflected in his western poems, because he has had actual experience in the themes he puts into verse, He had no college professor teach him anything. He is a natural born poet and his poems show he knows his business. The best cowhand poems I have ever read. His books should be in every home and library where western poetry is enjoyed.

King, from the foreword to Rhymes of the Ranges Bruce Kiskaddon is one the most admired “classic” cowboy poets and his poems are frequently recited.
